How did Dallas Cowboys’ draft targets perform at the 2023 NFL Combine in Indianapolis?

The Dallas Cowboys showed interest in a multitude of players who were at the 2023 NFL Combine.

How did those players perform?

QB Max Duggan, TCU

The Davey O’Brien award winner surprised some when he ran a 4.52 which was the second-fastest time for a quarterback. Duggan struggled with his accuracy at times during the throwing portion though he did show good arm strength and touch on deep passes.

RB Bijan Robinson, Texas

The No. 1 ranked running back prospect according to The Ringer, Robinson had a spectacular showing at the combine. Robinson was Top 10 in the 40-yard dash, vertical jump and broad jump. Robinson also showed off his route running and receiving abilities in his on-field workout.

RB Jahmyr Gibbs, Alabama

Gibbs owns the second-fastest 40-yard dash time out of the running backs with a scorching 4.36. The former Crimson Tide member validated his reputation as a dynamic game-changing athlete.

TE Luke Schoonmaker, Michigan

With Dalton Schultz headed toward free agency, the Cowboys talked to several tight ends who could fill the void if Schultz were to go somewhere else. Schoonmaker had a good showing in the 40-yard dash, 20-yard shuttle and broad jump where he ranked among the top five tight ends in each category.

CB Emmanuel Forbes, Mississippi State

Forbes ran the fourth fastest time out of any of the cornerbacks running at the combine. However, there were durability concerns about his weight. Forbes weighed in at 166 pounds while standing 6-foot-1 inches tall.

CB Joey Porter Jr, Penn State

One of the top corners in the draft, Porter Jr. isn’t known for his speed and ran a 4.46 which put him 14th among corners at the combine. Porter Jr. showed off his strength on the bench press nothing 17 reps of 225, tied for the second most by a cornerback at the combine.

LB Dee Winters, TCU

Winters proved his speed with a 4.49 40-yard dash time which was the fourth-fastest among linebackers. The Horned frog also performed well during individual drills showing off his fluidity.

LB Demarvion Overshown, Texas

Overshown notched 15 reps of 225 which ranked him last among linebackers who participated in the bench press. The Texas product was also ranked just outside the top ten in the 40-yard dash with a time of 4:56.

DE Derick Hall, Auburn

Hall showed off good athleticism ranking in the top ten in the broad jump and 40-yard dash while impressing during individual workouts and having good measurables.

The NFL Draft is April 27-29 in Kansas City.
