The Dallas Cowboys have added two new coaches to the defensive staff and their names might be familiar to fans from their playing days in the NFL.

Former Cowboys strong safety Darian Thompson will be an assistant linebacker and quality control coach.

Thompson played with the Cowboys for four seasons from 2018-2021.

Sharrif Floyd, an All-American at Florida before being drafted with the 23rd pick in the 2013 NFL draft by the Minnesota Vikings, will be an assistant defensive line and defensive quality coach. Floyd played all four seasons of his NFL career with the Vikings.

Floyd was coached by Dan Quinn during Floyd’s time at the University of Florida when Quinn was the defensive coordinator and defensive line coach.
