Deion Sanders tells Manningcast Dallas Cowboys shouldn’t lose to Tampa Bay

NFL Hall of Famer and former Dallas Cowboys cornerback Deion Sanders didn’t think his former team had any business losing Monday night.

Sanders, who was the first guest on ESPN2’s Manningcast with brothers Peyton and Eli Manning, expressed his admiration for Tampa Bay Bucs quarterback Tom Brady. But the Bucs won the NFC South with an 8-9 record. The Cowboys finished 12-5 but looked especially bad in a regular-season finale loss at Washington last week.

“I’m a Tom Brady guy but there’s no way the Cowboys should relinquish this game with the depth and talent they have,” Sanders said. Sanders also commented on Dak Prescott’s 0-for-3 start passing early in the game.

Brady struggled early, too. He was 1 for 4 for two yards in the Bucs’ first two possessions.

“Both quarterbacks – what’s going on, guys? — have either of these guys completed a pass,” Sanders asked the Mannings.

Later in the broadcast, Sanders said he thinks the Cowboys could reach the NFC Championship Game if they could win Monday’s Wild Card game in Tampa.

The Cowboys did, winning 31-14. They will travel to San Francisco on Sunday.
