Re-introducting quarterback Cooper Rush.

Get familiar with him again, Dallas Cowboys fans. And fantasy football players.

Rush is the likely starter heading into week two of the NFL season after starting quarterback Dak Prescott fractured a bone above his thumb in his right throwing hand.

“I thought I jammed it,” Prescott said. “I actually thought that was what it was. The next play, I couldn’t grip it (ball).”

Prescott will see doctors Monday with surgery likely very quickly.

Thus, Cooper Rush will start against the Bengals on Sept. 18.

Rush has played 10 career NFL games over the past five seasons. He’s completed 31 of 50 passes for 422 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions.

The former Central Michigan quarterback went undrafted, but signed with the Cowboys as a free agent in 2017.

He played in all three preseason games but was unimpressive.
