Dallas Cowboys’ Mike McCarthy will return to Green Bay to face old team on Nov. 13
The 2022 NFL schedule will be officially be released on Thursday.
But the league has already leaked a few games as part of a grand build up.
And Wednesday, it was the Dallas Cowboys’ turn to be part of the hoopla with an official Week 10 date for coach Mike McCarthy’s much-anticipated return to Green Bay.
The Cowboys will travel to Green Bay on Nov. 13, setting the stage for McCarthy’s first chance to face his old Packers team since he took the Cowboys job in January 2020.
The game will be at 3:25 p.m. and aired on Fox as “America’s Game of the Week.“
That it will be on the road in Green Bay at historic Lambeau Field makes the game even juicier. McCarthy still owns a house there and his wife is from Green Bay.
McCarthy coached the Packers from 2006 until he was fired midway through the 2018 season.
He took Green Bay to the playoffs nine times, made four NFC championship games and won the Super Bowl in 2010.
It’s the Cowboys’ first game against the Packers since 2019, a 34-24 loss, in Jason Garrett’s last season, the year before McCarthy took over.
In addition to home and away games against the traditional NFC East opponents in the Washington Commanders, the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Giants, the Cowboys will face the Chicago Bears, the Detroit Lions, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Indianapolis Colts, the Houston Texans and the Cincinnati Bengals at home at AT&T Stadium.
They will face the Packers, the Minnesota Vikings, the Los Angeles Rams, the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Tennessee Titans on the road.
