Dallas Cowboys have an extra home date in 2022, but fans will pay more to go to games

The Dallas Cowboys have not opened their wallets in free agency, but it fans with need to open theirs a bit wider to attend games at AT&T Stadium in 2022.

A Cowboys spokesman declined to comment on the increase in ticket prices, but said part of the rise was due to the team having a ninth regular season home game for the first time.

The nine games versus eight games argument aside, the per game average ticket prices for some tickets are up 20 percent compared to last season.

End zone seats that cost $140 in 2021 will be $170 in 2022. One season-ticket holder who paid $2,700 for two tickets in 2021 was received an invoice $3,250 for the the same two seats.

A ticket broker with multiple accounts said the cost of each seat for his club tickets went from $410 to $430 and some lower level ticket from $160 to $190.

The increase in ticket prices come one season after the Cowboys finished 12-5 in 2021 and lost in therir home wild card game to the San Francisco 49ers.

After trading receiver Amari Cooper to the Cleveland Browns and losing defensive end Randy Gregory to the Denver Broncos in free agency, the Cowboys haven’t brought in any new major talent though they still have the NFL Draft at end of the month to add potential impact players.

In addition to the normal slate of games against the NFC East opponents in the New York Giants, Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles, the home schedule features contests against the Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears, Indianapolis Colts, Houston Texans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the AFC champion Cincinnati Bengals.

Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, who unretired last month, and Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow should be attractive offerings for fans at AT&T Stadium.
