Dallas Cowboys’ Dontari Poe, 23 Seahawks take part in pregame social justice protest
Nose tacke Dontari Poe was the lone player for the Dallas Cowboys to take a knee in a silent protest in support of social justice during the national anthem before Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks.
It was the the third straight game in which Poe has taken a knee, and he remains the only Cowboys player to have done so during the anthem.
Across the field, 23 members of the Seahawks took part in some form of silent protest, according to The Athletic.
Tackle Duane Brown, tight end Will Dissly, linebacker Jordyn Brooks and safety Ugo Amadi took a knee. Safety Quandre Diggs, cornerback Shaquill Griffin, defensive tackle Anthony Rush and cornerback Ryan Neal sat during the anthem. Safety Jamal Adams raised a fist.
And 14 other players stayed in the locker room, including former Cowboys defensive end Benson Mayowa, former TCU defensive lineman L.J. Collier, former Texas A&M defensive end Damontre Moore and former Texas defensive tackle Poona Ford.
