Dallas Cowboys legend trended during Monday Night Football for mostly the wrong reasons
He’s a first-ballot Hall of Famer but his induction highlight reel is not going to include these highlights.
Dallas Cowboys legend Jason Witten, who is now playing with the Las Vegas Raiders at age 38, was trending on social media during his team’s 34-24 win over the New Orleans Saints Monday night.
It wasn’t for anything spectacular. In fact, Witten finished with one catch for three yards on one target. He had one catch for two yards in Week 1.
Witten was mocked by many on Twitter — and lamented by nostalgic Cowboys fans — for moving like, well, a 38-year-old tight end in his 17th season in the NFL. Witten was in the MNF broadcast booth two years ago when he briefly retired before returning to the Cowboys in 2019.
While many fans expressed their shock that Witten is still playing and in a Raiders uniform, others mocked Witten’s declining speed and his blocking ability.
