Disastrous, fumbling start for Dallas Cowboys has them looking like one of NFL’s ‘worst’
Ooof.
The Dallas Cowboys fumbled four times in the first quarter and trailed the Atlanta Falcons 20-0 before Ezekiel Elliott scored on a 1-yard run in the second quarter Sunday at AT&T Stadium.
The Cowboys lost three of the fumbles, including one each from Dak Prescott, Elliott, and Dalton Schultz.
The Falcons took advantage of the gifts to build their lead. In fact, the Cowboys are lucky they weren’t down by more. Dallas’ defense held Atlanta to field goals on their fifth and sixth possessions.
Add to the Cowboys’ first-half misery was a fake punt that failed.
The Falcons took a 26-7 lead with six minutes left in the first half on Matt Ryan’s third touchdown pass of the game. It was Calvin Ridley’s second scoring reception of the game.
The Cowboys trailed 29-10 at the half.
