Dallas Cowboys reach rookie deals with draft picks Anae, DiNucci

The Dallas Cowboys reached agreements with rookies Bradlee Anae and Ben DiNucci on Monday.

Anae, a fifth-round pick, is a defensive end out of Utah. His agent David Canter announced the deal on social media.

Anae has been viewed as a “steal” in this year’s NFL Draft. He set the Utah career record with 30 sacks, including 13 as a senior in 2019. He’ll push to become a part of the Cowboys’ defensive end rotation this season.

Dinucci, a seventh-round pick, is a quarterback out of James Madison. The Dallas Morning News first reported the DiNucci agreement.

DiNucci will compete for the third quarterback spot behind starter Dak Prescott and backup Andy Dalton. DiNucci, who started his college career at Pitt, had a stellar two seasons at James Madison, ranking fourth in program history in passing yards (5,716) and passing touchdowns (45).

The Cowboys still have five other draft picks to reach deals with, including first-rounder CeeDee Lamb.

Cowboys rookies are scheduled to report to camp on Tuesday. Quarterbacks and injured players can report on Thursday and other veterans on July 28.
