Video shows Dallas Cowboys safety comes uncomfortably close to a mama bear and cub
Dallas Cowboys safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix has experience with bears, but this is taking it a little too far.
The 2016 Pro Bowl defensive back who played with the Chicago Bears in 2019 posted surveillance video footage on Instagram at what is presumably his house.
In the video clip, Clinton-Dix is seen rolling up his driveway on a scooter and is startled by a mama bear and her cub who had wandered up the drive from the other end. The time stamp on the video indicates that the incident took place Monday at 8:45 p.m.
Clinton-Dix doesn’t see the bears until he pulls up next to a car, which is parked by the home’s front door. The bears had strolled to the back of the car when Clinton-Dix arrived, but he then sees them and quickly hops off the scooter causing it to roll toward the bears. The bears then scamper off in the other direction.
“Gotta be ready to go,” Clinton-Dix posted with the video. “A lil high on my flip turn but the drive was there.”
He tagged the message with #safetyfirst and #Bear, among others. Clinton-Dix has been in the league six seasons, including starting all 16 games for the Bears in 2019.
He signed with the Cowboys as a free agent in March.
