Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott has tested positive for coronavirus

Dallas Cowboys star running back Ezekiel Elliott has tested positive for the coronavirus, a source confirmed to the Star-Telegram.

The source said Elliott took the test for COVID-19 last week and the results came back positive.

A source said the only reason Elliott took the COVID-19 test was because a friend had tested positive. Elliott, a source said, had no symptoms.

Elliott’s family all took the test for the coronavirus, and the results were negative.

Ian Rappaport of the NFL Network reported that “several” members of the Dallas Cowboys have also tested positive for the coronavirus. Elliott’s agent told Rappaport that his client feels good.

Elliott, at least via Twitter, doesn’t sound too happy this news leaked.

He wrote on Twitter, “HIPAA ??”

The Dallas Cowboys are not commenting on the health of individual players.

A source said that Elliott had not been at The Star in Frisco.

The club had already begun the process of re-opening The Star. Team workouts are not allowed by the NFL.

Players are not allowed back at their team facilities. Players who require medical treatment or rehab services were allowed to visit The Star.

Coaches were allowed back into The Star on June 4. Head coach Mike McCarthy spent the past several months at his home in Wisconsin.

Players have not yet been cleared to return per the NFL coronavirus shutdown and safety protocols.

The NFL has continued to push forward to start its 2020 regular season on time, despite the reality of a pandemic that closed the world for the better part of three months.

The NFL has ordered all teams to have their 2020 training camps at their training facilities. Some teams, like the Dallas Cowboys, typically hold a portion of their falls camps in other areas.

Ezekiel Elliott, 24, is the first prominent member of the Cowboys to test positive.
