Philadelphia Eagles’ Doug Pederson says Dallas Cowboys ‘kicked our tail’ in October

The Dallas Cowboys have controlled the series against the Philadelphia Eagles in the past several years.

Eagles coach Doug Pederson is 2-5 since taking over in Philly in 2016, including a 37-10 beat down by the Cowboys on October 20 at AT&T Stadium.

The teams play at 3:25 p.m. Sunday with the NFC East title and lone playoff berth on the line.

“Listen, they got us the last time and they kicked our tail and they had a great game plan,” Pederson said Monday morning. “We just have to come prepared each day this week and study the tape. Coaches have to have a great game plan, obviously, and our players have to understand the game plan, either how we are trying to attack or defend the Cowboys and then go play.”

In the first meeting, Dak Prescott threw for 239 yards on 21 of 27 passes with a touchdown and interception. Ezekiel Elliott rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown and Amari Cooper had five catches for 105 yards. Dallas led 27-7 at the half. The Cowboys’ defense forced three fumbles and had an interception.

“We’re here at Week 16 and, like I said, there’s a lot of tape out there, another division opponent,” Pederson said. “There’s probably a little more obviously on the line this week than most weeks, but it’s where we are right now, and we’ve dug this hole, but we’re slowly climbing out of it, and we’re excited for the opportunity.”

The Eagles have won two consecutive games (the Giants and Redskins) after losing three in a row. The Cowboys snapped a three-game losing streak with a 44-21 win over the Los Angeles Rams.
