Surprising move leaves Cowboys defensive line thin again vs. Eagles

The Dallas Cowboys will be without defensive ends Taco Charlton and David Irving Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Charlton only played four snaps in the last game.

Irving has bee nursing and ankle injury and has only played in two games this season, the last on Oct. 21.

Charlton wasn’t on the injury report this week so this was strictly a coaches decision.

The good news is left tackle Tyron Smith should return after missing the previous two games. And wide receiver Michael Gallup, who missed practice on Friday with an illness, is available.

Other inactives Sunday for the Cowboys: Quarterback Mike White, linebackers Sean Lee (hamstring) and Chris Covington, Tavon Austin (groin) and tight end Geoff Swaim (wrist surgery).
