Defensive tackle David Irving will be activate for Sunday night’s game against the Houston Texans.

To make room on the 53-man roster, the Dallas Cowboys put center Travis Frederick on the injured reserve list (non-football illness), making the All Pro unavailable to return to the field until December. Frederick won’t be eligible to return for eight weeks, which would make him available for the final three games of the season.

Dallas also placed receiver Terrance Williams on injured reserved. Williams missed practice this week with a combination of personal issues and a lingering foot injury from an off-season surgery.

Irving, who was suspended for the first four games of the season for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy, will play in his first game since Nov. 30, 2017. He missed the final four games last season because of a concussion.

Frederick has been sidelined since early August with Guillain-Barré syndrome, an autoimmune disorder. The Cowboys decided to include Frederick on the initial 53-man roster to start the season, hoping he’d be ready to return within a month or two. But his progress has been slower than expected and owner Jerry Jones said on Friday that the team now has a better idea of when Frederick will potentially be able to return.
