Terrance Williams missed the first game of his career. Is he coming back to the Cowboys?

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terrance Williams missed practice Friday for personal reasons and didn’t attend Sunday’s 26-24 victory against the Detroit Lions with the team’s approval.

It was the first missed game of his career for Williams as the Cowboys made him inactive with Brice Butler taking his place on the game day roster.

Coach Jason Garret said Williams was “working through some off-field stuff.”

Garrett expects Williams to rejoin the team for meetings Tuesday and practice Wednesday heading into Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans.

Williams’ spot in the lineup, however, may not return.

He played in all of a possible 83 games in his career before Sunday.

But he only has two catches for 18 yards in three games this season and was averaging less than 10 snaps a game.

Williams is the team’s highest-paid receiver with a $4.75 million salary cap number and $3.8 million base salary in 2018.

However, he is also bracing for a looming suspension from the NFL of up to four games for violating the league’s personal conduct policy.

Williams was arrested in Frisco last May for public intoxication, stemming from a car accident in which his blue Lamborghini collided with a light pole and he fled the scene.
