Jerry Jones confirms linebacker Sean Lee will miss time with latest hamstring injury

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones confirmed the obvious Tuesday when he acknowledged linebacker Sean Lee will miss some time with an injury to his left hamstring.

Sources had already said that Lee could miss at least a couple of games after aggravating his hamstring in the third quarter of Sunday’s 24-13 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Jones acknowledged as much on his radio show on 105.3 The Fan Tuesday morning.

“That soft tissue, that ham is hard to predict,” Jones said. “But he has dealt with it before. Actually, he’s a quick healer, but more important thing is he’s so mentally into it that he seems to get out there quicker than others. So, I hope it will be a short time. I do think there is a chance he will miss some playing time here.”

Lee came into the game concerned about his right hamstring after experiencing some tightness in the Week 2 win against the New York Giants and being limited in practice last week.

Lee’s hamstring issues are nothing new for him and the Cowboys.

He missed five games last year because of a pulled hamstring and 10 games in his career because of it.

The Cowboys were careful with him throughout the offseason and training camp hopefully try to prevent recurring problems with Lee’s hamstring, clearly to no avail.

The Cowboys believe they are better equipped to play without Lee in 2018 because of presence of first-round pick Leighton Vander Esch.

Vander Esch tied Lee with a team-high 11 tackles against the Seahawks.
