Watch Jason Witten blame new rules on ‘Left Wing’ during ‘Monday Night Football’
Jason Witten isn’t sticking to sports.
ESPN executives have reportedly tried to keep their broadcasters from discussing potentially controversial topics in any way.
But during the broadcast of the game between the Steelers and Chiefs on ESPN’s ‘Monday Night football,’ analyst Jason Witten went ‘there.’
After the Steelers were penalized for a late hit on Buccaneers quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, the all-time leading receiver in the history of the Dallas Cowboys complained about the nature of the new NFL rules.
Those rules are designed to better protect players on the field.
But Witten believes that some sort of political culture is at least partially responsible for some of these new rules. And that those rules are bad for the game.
Here is what Witten said.
“They’ve just gone too far with that rule. I knew they wanted to make it about the health and safety, and protecting these quarterbacks, but it just seems like we went a little bit to the left wing on that, you know?”
