The Dallas Cowboys’ offense wanted a fast start Sunday night and they got one.

Dak Prescott connected with Tavon Austin on the third play from scrimmage on a 64-yard touchdown pass to give the Cowboys a quick 7-0 lead against the New York Giants at AT&T Stadium.

Brett Maher’s 37-yard field goal on Dallas’ next possession pushed the lead to 10-0 at the half. It’s Maher’s first-career field goal in the NFL. He missed his lone attempt from 47 yards last week at Carolina.

The Cowboys’ defense consistently put pressure on Eli Manning in the first half. Dallas sacked Manning four times for a loss of 36 yards. The Giants were held to 79 yards compared to the Cowboys’ 187.

Prescott was 7 of 14 for 105 yards and the touchdown to Austin. Ezekiel Elliott had 40 yards on nine rushes. Prescott rushed for 27 yards on three rushes.
