How Jerry and Dez ended up watching the Beyonce-Jay-Z concert together

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones looks says his team has not had a No. 1 receiver in years, which is seemingly a subtle shot at the decline in production of Dez Bryant before he was released in April.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said it should have surprised no one to see him sitting side by side former Cowboys’ receiver Dez Bryant in a suite at AT&T Stadium for the Beyonce-Jay-Z concert on Tuesday night.

“I knew he was going to be there. It would have been a surprise for him not to be there,” Jones said on the KRLD/105.3 The Fan Friday morning. “I’m with our former players from time to time, not only socially, but I’m with them in every day business. It’s not uncommon for me to have business with former players.”

Jones has always been close to Bryant during his time with the Cowboys. He said the relationships become tight, not only because of the financial connection between player and team, but doing business outside of their contracts as well.

“You just create relationships,” he said. “Some of the best friends I have are some of our former players.”

Jones said he didn’t discuss football with Bryant. “With Dez, that’s not uncommon,” he said.
