The Dallas Cowboys now have half of their draft class under contract after signing seventh-round pick Laurence Gibson on Friday.
Gibson, an offensive lineman out of Virginia Tech, signed a four-year deal and is expected to compete for a backup tackle position. He joins fifth-round defensive end Ryan Russell, seventh-round linebacker Mark Nzeocha and seventh-round tight end Geoff Swaim as draft picks who have signed.
The Cowboys still have to reach deals with first-round cornerback Byron Jones, second-round defensive end Randy Gregory, third-round offensive lineman Chaz Green and fourth-round linebacker Damien Wilson.
In other roster moves, the Cowboys announced the signing of former Texas Tech offesnive lineman Reshod Fortenberry. Fortenberry, who started the past two seasons at right tackle for the Red Raiders, impressed the Cowboys enough as a workout player at last weekend’s rookie minicamp that they are keeping him around.
Fortenberry replaces guard Daniel Quave, who was waived.
