Jason Garrett gets the glory after showing the guts
With the fate of the Dallas Cowboys’ 2017 season seemingly in the balance, the often conservative head coach Jason Garrett went rogue.
The Cowboys were facing 4th and 11 at their own 24 in a 10-10 game against the Oakland Raiders late in the third quarter when punter Chris Jones took off around the right end for a 24-yard gain on a fake punt. It kept the drive alive, which eventually was capped off by a 15-yard scoring run by Dak Prescott that gave the Cowboys a brief 17-10 lead.
