The sack drought has finally come to an end.

The Dallas Cowboys had gone two games without a sack and DeMarcus Lawrence finally got home against the Washington Redskins in the second quarter.

The last sack before Thursday’s was at Atlanta when Lawrence took down Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan. The sack marked a stretch of 30 opponent drives without one.

Lawrence had a second-quarter, strip-sack of Washington’s Kirk Cousins and defensive tackle Maliek Collins recovered the ball on the Washington 19.

That set up a field goal for the Cowboys to put them ahead 10-0.

On the ensuing possession, rookie Taco Charlton sacked Cousins as the Redskins went three-and-out.

The Cowboys combined for just one sack in their previous three games, and hadn’t had multiple sacks since they had two against Kansas City in early November.

For Lawrence, it snapped a two-game sack drought and gave him 12.5 for the season. He added one early in the third quarter as well. Lawrence’s 13.5 sacks leads the league at this point as Minnesota’s Everson Griffen and Arizona’s Chandler Jones each have 12.

Charlton, meanwhile, notched his second career sack. He has gotten off to a slow start to his professional career, although the coaching staff continues to give him opportunities on the field.
