Cowboys pass rusher DeMarcus Lawrence climbing franchise sack chart

The Dallas Cowboys have had trouble stopping a pass rush, but they sure know how to bring one, led by DeMarcus Lawrence.

Lawrence has 11.5 sacks and needs one more sack to tie Randy White (1983 and 1984), Charles Haley (1994) and Greg Ellis (2007) for the seventh-most sacks in a single season in team history, since sacks became an official statistic in 1982.

With two sacks, Lawrence passes Ed “Too Tall” Jones (13.0 in 1985) for sixth. He also needs one tackle to reach 100 for his career.

The Cowboys host the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday night at AT&T Stadium. Here’s a look at some key match-ups:

Cowboys DE DeMarcus Lawrence vs. Eagles RT Lane Johnson:

Lawrence is having a breakout season in a contract year. He leads the NFL in sacks and has registered at least one sack in all but one game. He’ll have a stiff test this week, though, against Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson. Johnson was the fourth overall pick out of Oklahoma in 2013, and is playing at a high level. He had an impressive performance in his previous game against Denver’s Von Miller.

Cowboys inside offensive line vs. Eagles interior defensive line

Zack Martin and Travis Frederick are regarded as two of the best interior linemen in the league, and have played well this season along. Dallas also has Jonathan Cooper in the mix. But they’ll have their hands full against a stout Eagles front seven led by defensive tackles Fletcher Cox and Tim Jernigan. Cox has been named to the past two Pro Bowls, and Jernigan is leading the Eagles in tackles for loss.
