Cowboys TE Rico Gathers finds the end zone once again
Rico Gathers became a rebounding monster for the Baylor basketball team in his college career. Maybe he’ll become a touchdown monster for the Dallas Cowboys.
Gathers continues to show he is a threat in the red-zone and did so again on Saturday night against the Los Angeles Rams.
Gathers raced down the left seam and caught a 25-yard touchdown pass from Cooper Rush in the third quarter. Gathers managed to get past Rams linebacker Folarin Orimolade for the score.
It’s the second consecutive preseason game that Gathers has scored a touchdown. He had a 26-yard TD grab in the Hall of Fame game.
Gathers, 6-foot-8, 280 pounds, gives the Cowboys a big target down in the red zone that knows how to go get the ball. Other parts of his game still need to be refined, notably blocking, but the Cowboys believe he can be a contributing piece this season.
And, if Gathers keeps scoring TDs, he will be.
