Jaylon Smith still waiting to see game action
Dallas Cowboys linebacker Jaylon Smith is unlikely to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Rams.
It would be the second consecutive preseason game that Smith has been held out of action.
But it's not a cause for concern, but rather a continuation of the deliberate way the team is bringing Smith along after missing his rookie season in 2016 with a tragic knee injury from his final college game at Notre Dame.
Coach Jason Garrett said Smith has had no setbacks camp and gets more added to his plate every day in practice. The team plans to play him in the preseason. The only question is when?
If he doesn't play against the Rams as expected, Smith could make his debut in the preseason home opener against the Indianapolis Colts Aug. 19.
