Will Jerry Jones mention Jimmy Johnson in his speech? Time will tell
Jerry Jones is rarely, if ever, at a loss for words.
And with an open mike at the Pro Football Hall of Fame, it’s anyone’s guess what the Dallas Cowboys owner will say and how long it will take to say it.
Regardless, he’s earned it.
Jones, well known for hyperbole and extended conversations with the media, will be inducted with the Class of 2017 Saturday in Canton, Ohio.
Will he mention his former coach Jimmy Johnson, whom he fired? Will he or should he mention former coach Tom Landry, whom he fired?
The enshrinement ceremony begins at 6 p.m. and will be shown on NFL Network and ESPN.
Jones will speak next-to-last in the seven-member class, one spot behind former TCU and San Diego Chargers great LaDainian Tomlinson.
Kenny Easley will speak first. The rest of the order has Jason Taylor, Morten Andersen, Terrell Davis, Tomlinson, Jones and Kurt Warner.
Gene Jones, Jerry’s wife, will be his presenter.
