Cowboys will give tight end M.J. McFarland a look

The Dallas Cowboys signed tight end M.J. McFarland on Tuesday.

McFarland had brief stints with Philadelphia and the New York Jets.

McFarland entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Eagles after participating in a tryout during the team’s rookie mini-camp in 2016.

In college, McFarland played three seasons at Texas before transferring to Texas-El Paso. AT UT, he had 19 receptions for 178 yards and three touchdowns in 36 career games (eight starts).

He spent the off-season training at the Michael Johnson Performance Center in McKinney.

The Cowboys waived center Michael Coe (North Dakota), linebacker Jeremiah George (Iowa State) and tackle Levon Myers (Northern Illinois).

The club signed also defensive end Darnell Leslie (Monmouth).
