The Dallas Cowboys had some special guests Friday morning.
Three-time Cy Young winner Clayton Kershaw, former Rangers reliever Shawn Tolleson and Royals pitcher Chris Young took in the Cowboys Friday morning practice at the Ford Center before getting in a little practice of their own.
Cowboys coach Jason Garrett, who visited with the three Dallas-area bred major leaguers afterward, said they were looking for a warm place to throw with temperatures in the 20s.
“He’s a fierce competitor,” Garrett said of Kershaw, who pitched at Highland Park before the Los Angeles Dodgers. Garrett said he’s played video clips of Kershaw to Cowboys’ players to show how hard he competes.

Young, who also attended Highland Park, attended Garrett’s alma mater Princeton. Garrett’s brother Judd, a Cowboys’ scout, married Chris Young’s sister in March. Tolleson attended Allen High School and still lives in the area. He is a free agent after declining a minor league assignment from the Rangers in October.
