The Dallas Cowboys got their second-ever victory in Lambeau Field on Sunday. It reminded Jerry Jones of another big victory his team had two seasons ago.

"Gosh, I tell you the stage was set," Jones said after the 30-16 victory over the Packers. "If our team could actually not get awed and come up here and play with this set of circumstances, I knew that it was going to [be special], and I feel that it is a foundation builder. It’s the kind of win that’s better than Seattle was two years ago. The guys never wavered and they came out here with a lot of determination on both sides of the ball."

The Cowboys were 9.5-point underdogs to the Seattle Seahawks two years ago despite their 4-1 record. Yet, they rushed for 162 yards on 36 carries against a defense that had allowed only 62.3 in its previous four games. The Cowboys held Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson to 14-for-28 passing for 126 yards and an interception that iced the 30-23 victory.

The Cowboys entered Sunday’s game 4-1, but were as much as 6-point underdogs to the Packers. They rushed for 191 yards on 33 carries against the league’s No. 1 rushing defense, and Aaron Rodgers went 31-of-42 for 294 yards with one touchdown, one interception and one fumble lost.

"It’s been awhile, right?" Cowboys cornerback Brandon Carr said after being reminded of the Seahawks game. "That was good, man. …We understand that we’ve been here a few times and couldn’t get the job done. But we’re a new team. Confidence is different from any other year and just guys who love to play football. You can see that each and every play."

Defensive tackle Terrell McClain said the chemistry this season is even better than in 2014. The Cowboys went 12-4 that season, but couldn’t advance past the divisional round, losing to the Packers in Lambeau.

"We had a good season that year," McClain said. "Once we got a few wins under our belt and everybody started seeing how everybody was playing, everybody started playing off of it. Everybody was feeding off the energy."
