Former A&M kicker now with Chargers issues challenge to Chiefs counterpart

Josh Lambo made 21 of 25 field-goal attempts in 2013 and 2014 for the Texas A&M Aggies, good enough to become the San Diego Chargers’ kicker last year.

If football is not Lambo’s first love, soccer is. In 2008, Lambo, a goalkeeper, was drafted by FC Dallas. But after not seeing action with the club over the next three years, and unable to stick during a trial with D.C. United, Lambo decided to use his right foot in a different endeavor and headed to Texas A&M in 2012.

He made a name for himself at A&M, and is off to a good start of sticking in the NFL. But he hasn’t forgotten his roots. In fact, he’s quite excited about June’s COPA America Centenario that will be played in 10 U.S. cities, including Houston.

Keeping with the spirit, Lambo decided to issue a Twitter challenge to Kansas City Chiefs kicker and proud Brazilian Cairo Santos. Here’s the challenge:

Santos has apparently answered the call.

Now we wait to see which kicker wins this monumental competition.
