Aaron Green never complained about how the TCU coaching staff utilized his skills in his three-year career at the school.

After all, the Horned Frogs were winning games and Green contributed to that success. He surpassed the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the first time this past season, gaining 1,272 yards on 244 carries for the 11-2, Alamo Bowl-winning Frogs.

But Green feels he could have done even more in his college career, and is trying to convince NFL scouts of the same this week at the Senior Bowl.

“I feel I was definitely underappreciated or not used to my full potential, but we were winning games at TCU,” Green said. “That’s all that really mattered to me, so I never really complained. But I think here I will be able to showcase my running skills a little more.”

Coming into the week, Green said his No. 1 objective was to show that he could be an every-down running back at the next level.

“Show that I’m elusive, show that I can make big plays,” said Green, who checked in at 5-feet, 10.5 inches and 203 pounds. “Show that I am an exciting factor on anybody’s team.”

While Green would like to prove he can be an every-down guy, he faces an uphill battle. Most NFL scouts project him as a third-down type player, a running back who must be able to block in pass protection and catch the ball out of the backfield.

As NFLDraftScout.com and CBS Sports draft analyst Dane Brugler said, “He’s not a power guy. He’s not a guy who is going to consistently create after contact, especially between the tackles, in between the hashes. That’s not what he does.

“He’s better in space where he can be a jitterbug and create on his own.”
