Texas ex Vince Young arrested
Former University of Texas star Vince Young has been arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated in Austin, according to the Austin American-Statesman.
Young was spotted by police at a traffic light at Sixth Street about 11:15 p.m. Sunday and was followed and pulled over at an empty parking lot near 51st Street in the 4600 block of the North I-35 service road.
He was booked into Travis County Jail on the misdemeanor charge at 12:46 a.m. Monday, according to the American-Statesman. He has appeared before a Travis County judge, who set his bail at $2,000.
Young, 32, led the Longhorns to a national title in 2005. He played six seasons in the NFL.
He now works for UT promoting diversity and community engagement.
University spokesman Gary Susswein said the school had no immediate comment.
