NFL Gameday
Indianapolis (2-2) at Houston (1-3)
7:25 p.m., KTVT/11, NFL Network
Line: Texans by 1
Colts didn’t need Luck to extend winning streak vs. AFC South teams to 15 games and, if reports are true of a partial shoulder separation, might not have their QB Thursday to extend streak of five straight wins vs. Texans. Sunday was Andrew Luck’s first missed start since his freshman year at Stanford. On Sunday he was replaced by a senior — as in citizen. Backup Matt Hasselbeck, the second-oldest player in the league, became the first 40-year-old starting QB to win a game in five years but also is questionable with an illness. The Colts have 12 turnovers — at least two each game — and are last in NFL with TO margin of minus-9. The Texans lost WR Cecil Shorts to a separated shoulder on the final play of a 48-21 loss to the Falcons. Houston also has lost five prime time games in a row. QB Ryan Mallett was in on nine series, but authored no points. But he’ll start again on short week, and presumably a short leash. RB Arian Foster’s return yielded 10 yards on eight carries plus a lost fumble returned for a touchdown. The Texans’ first half provided three points, three turnovers and one missed FG.
