Jason Kelce says he’ll return luchador mask he wore at Super Bowl parties to Dallas family

Jason Kelce took to X on Friday to say he was going to return a luchador mask back to the Dallas family he borrowed it from after being seen partying in the mask celebrating his brother, Travis Kelce, winning his third Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Dallas family, who spoke with KXAS-TV asked Kelce to return the mask which they say is their son’s good luck charm.

The owner of the mask is Elijah Smith, an eighth-grade Kansas City Chiefs fan, who went to the Super Bowl with his family and gave Kelce the mask for a picture at a Super Bowl postgame party.

On his podcast “New Heights,” which he hosts with his brother Travis, the elder Kelce brother explained how he found the mask and why he put on a random mask.

“I found the mask on the dance floor [at] the first afterparty spot,” said Kelce, “You see a luchador mask on the dancefloor you don’t ask any questions. I for sure thought I was getting pinkeye.”

The clips of Kelce in the mask went viral on X, formerly Twitter. One Tweet has almost 800,00 views.

The Smith family said the mask is special because after the Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory over the Eagles in 2023, they got it signed by Chiefs star defender Trent McDuffie.

The Smith family asked for Kelce to return the mask before next season starts as they consider a good luck charm and they wanna make sure that luck continues to rub off on the Chiefs but said they would love for Kelce to sign it before he sends it back.
