XFL: Who has the edge between the Arlington Renegades and the Orlando Guardians?
The Arlington Renegades suffered their first loss of the 2023 XFL season when they fell 23-14 to the Houston Roughnecks last weekend.
The Renegades next play the winless Orlando Guardians. Here are three keys to the matchup:
Offensive stagnation
The Renegades offense must play better than they did in their first two games to beat the Guardians.
While the team did score its first offensive touchdowns of the season against the Roughnecks, both touchdowns were on heavily shortened fields after Roughnecks turnovers.
No team in the XFL has scored fewer touchdowns than the Renegades.
Defensive dominance
The Renegades defense has been the antithesis of their offense, operating the highest-scoring defense in the XFL so far.
The unit has forced turnovers in each game so far and will look to take advantage of a Guardians offense that has thrown four interceptions through the first two weeks of the season.
Opponent quality
The only winless team in the XFL, the Guardians have lost both of their games by double-digit margins.
The Guardians have played like one of the worst teams in the XFL so far this season and the Renegades want to avoid becoming their first victory of the season.
