Reaction to wild first half as Chiefs rally from 24-point deficit against Oilers, er, Texans

The Kansas City Chiefs rallied from a 24-point deficit to lead the Houston Texans 28-24 at halftime of their divisional playoff game at Arrowhead Stadium Sunday afternoon.

The Texans took a stunning 24-0 lead in the first quarter after taking advantage of a couple of Chiefs turnovers.

But in the second quarter Patrick Mahomes threw four touchdown passes as the Chiefs rallied. They took advantage of a botched fake punt and recovered a fumble on a kickoff to help ignite the comeback.

It’s the highest-scoring first half in postseason history. The comeback elicited many ugly memories for Houston fans who remembered the Houston Oilers 32-point lead that was lost in a playoff game against the Buffalo Bills in 1993.
