Could Antonio Brown land in the NFC East? This Cowboys rival is on one oddsmaker’s list
The Pittsburgh Steelers probably are not going to trade Antonio Brown, which means the Dallas Cowboys likely won’t have to face him for a few more years.
But it’s certainly something to consider as the Steelers continue to deal with the drama surrounding Brown and the ongoing holdout of star running back Le’Veon Bell.
After the team’s 42-37 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, the star wideout argued with a former public relations employee of the organization on Twitter. The ex-employee said Brown essentially owed his on-field success to quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.
Brown responded by tweeting this out on Monday: “Trade me let’s find out.”
He then did not show up for any team activities on that day.
Brown’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told reporters the absence was because of a personal issue. Rosenhaus also said Brown does not actually want to be traded.
But if the Steelers decide that they’ve had enough of Brown’s drama, where would they send the elite receiver and his massive contract?
According to Bookmaker.eu, the teams with the best odds to procure Brown’s services are the Browns and Cardinals at +1000.
However, the Eagles and Titans are tied for the second best odds at+1600 according to the same site.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin told reporters that he was going to focus on “real things.” He also said that Brown had not asked the team for a trade.
Right now, the odds of him remaining in Pittsburgh are still higher than the alternative.
The Cowboys visit Philadelphia on Nov. 11 and host their NFC East rival on Dec. 9.
