Williams to have MRI, will miss Sunday’s game against the Kings
SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Point guard Deron Williams will miss his second straight game Sunday when the Dallas Mavericks meet the Sacramento Kings at 5 p.m. at Sleep Train Arena.
Williams, who will reutrn to Dallas on Sunday and have an MRI conducted, also missed Friday’s 128-120 loss to the Golden State Warriors because of a strained left abdominal. But after Saturday’s practice in Sacramento, coach Rick Carlisle noted that Williams is having issues with his hip.
"He’s struggling, so he’s going to be out (Sunday),’’ Carlisle said. "We’re actually going to send him home tomorrow to get his hip situation looked at diagnostically and then we’ll go from there.’’
When asked how he was feeling, Williams said: "Not too good. It’s still bothering me a little bit.
"It’s been bothering me for about two or three weeks now, but it’s something I could play through or something I’ve been playing through. It’s giving me a little discomfort, but towards the end of the Portland game (this past Wednesday) it got really bad and it hasn’t really let up since.’’
