About the Mavericks: Dirk Nowitzki, Tyson Chandler and Rajon Rondo are all expected to be back in action Friday after sitting out Wednesday’s loss in Denver. Nowitzki and Chandler rested against the Nuggets after playing heavy minutes Tuesday night in Sacramento. Rondo was sidelined with a sore left Achilles that has bothered him for some time. … All five players on the Mavericks’ bench who played Wednesday scored at least 10 points as the Dallas reserves outscored their Denver counterparts 62-29. J.J. Barea produced team highs of 17 points and six assists in only 21 minutes against the Nuggets. … The five points Monta Ellis scored Wednesday — on 1-of-11 shooting — marked only the third time this season he was held below 10 points in a game.
