About the Clippers: Center DeAndre Jordan returns to Dallas for the second time since reneging on an oral commitment last summer to sign a free agent contract with the Mavericks. Jordan had nine points and 11 rebounds, and his team was a minus-23 when he was on the court, in the Mavs’ 118-108 victory over the Clippers on Nov. 11. ... The Clippers’ three-game winning streak was snapped Saturday night in Los Angeles with a 107-97 loss to the Atlanta Hawks in Los Angeles. The Hawks ended on a 25-9 run. On Wednesday, the Clippers rallied from a 22-point deficit and finished with a 26-5 run to beat Oklahoma City 103-98. ... . .The Clippers beat the Mavs 104-88 on Oct. 29 in LA as Jordan had six points and 15 rebounds.
About the Mavs: Dallas opens a three-game homestand, with games to follow against Detroit on Wednesday and Indiana on Saturday afternoon. It’s the second game of a back-to-back for the Mavs after Sunday’s game in Denver, their first since the Feb. 12-18 All-Star break. Dirk Nowitzki has three 30-plus scoring games this season. One of them came against the Clippers on Nov. 11 when he scored 31 points in 33 minutes on 11-of-14 shooting.
