The Mavs lost the opener Sunday afternoon to the Houston Rockets 115-104. ... Center Zaza Pachulia said his injured lower left leg “is progressing” but he would know more in 24 hours if he’ll be able to play against the Lakers. ... Bryant, an All-Star, leads the Lakers in scoring with 15.8 points per game, but is shooting only 34.7 percent from the field and 24.9 percent from 3-point range. ... Shooting guard Louis Williams (15.5 points per game), Clarkson (15.1), Russell (12.3) and Randle (10.5, team-high 9.6 rebounds) are the other top producers for the Lakers. ... The Lakers have the worst record in the Western Conference and the second-worst in the NBA.
