Mavericks recap: Dallas falls to New Orleans for second straight loss

Why the Mavs lost: Anthony Davis flashed his All-Star side again Saturday night and led the New Orleans Pelicans to a 105-98 win over the Dallas Mavericks at American Airlines Center. Davis finished the game with 31 points and 14 rebounds as the Mavs dropped two games in a row for the first time since losing at home to Atlanta and Washington on Dec. 9 and 12, respectively.

Key players: The Pelicans got 20 points off the bench from Jrue Holiday and 16 from Ryan Anderson. Also, starters Eric Gordon and Norris Cole each tallied 16 points to go with the 31 points Davis scored.

Key stat: The Pelicans outrebounded the Mavs 53-33.

Records: Pelicans 11-22, Mavs 19-15
