About the Mavs: This is the final contest of a two-game road trip which started Tuesday night in New York against the Knicks. The Mavs are 4-1 on the second night of a back-to-back. The Mavs rank first in the NBA in scoring (110 ppg), seventh in assists (23.2 apg) and 24th in points allowed (103.2 ppg). Chandler Parsons returned against the Knicks after missing Saturday’s game against the Golden State Warriors with a sore lower back. The Mavs are 30-36 all-time against the Pistons, including 14-20 on the road.
About the Pistons: The Pistons started the season on hard times, but have won two of their last three games. Detroit went on a three-game road trip out West and won Friday in Phoenix (105-103) and Saturday in Sacramento (95-90). The trip ended with Monday’s 113-91 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. Greg Monroe leads Detroit with 15 ppg and 9.1 rpg, Josh Smith averages 13.5 ppg and 7.5 rpg, Brandon Jennings is averaging 12.4 ppg and 6.2 apg and Andre Drummond is averaging a double-double — 12.1 ppg and 11.9 rpg.
