About the Rockets: The Rockets became the first team in NBA history to open the season with three consecutive losses with each being by as many as 20 points. The losses were to Denver (105-85), Golden State (112-92) and Miami (109-89). Houston dropped a home game Wednesday to the previously winless Brooklyn Nets 106-98 ... James Harden is second in the NBA in scoring with 28.9 ppg ... The Rockets are just 2-3 at home.

About the Mavericks: This is the fourth game in five days for the Mavs ... They are 1-1 on the second leg of a back-to-back ... Ex-Rockets forward Chandler Parsons will sit out this game. The Mavs are not allowing him to play the second end of back-to-back games as he continues to work himself back into game shape ... Last season ended in Houston for the Mavs when the Rockets eliminated them in five games in the first round of the playoffs.
