Why the Mavericks lost: The Mavs were ahead 86-82 following a 3-pointer by Dirk Nowitzki with 6:37 remaining in the game. But the Raptors went on a brisk 12-0 run to vault ahead 94-86 with 3:51 left and went on to win 102-91.

Key players: Kyle Lowry (27 points), DeMar DeRozan (20 points) and Luis Scola (19 points, 12 rebounds) paced the Raptors. Dirk Nowitzki (18 poiints, seven rebounds) led the Mavs. Chandler Parsons only played in the first half and finished with nine points on 3-of-6 shooting in 14 minutes.

Key stat: The Raptors shot 45.1 percent from the field to just 38.4 percent for the Mavs. Dallas was only 7-of-23 from 3-point range, and was outrebounded 47-44. The Mavs also committed 16 turnovers.

Records: Mavs 2-2, Raptors 4-0
