The new-look Dallas Mavericks will tip off the preseason portion of the 2015-16 season on Oct. 6 with a game against the Denver Nuggets at American Airlines Center.

The Mavs will then hit the road to play in Houston on Oct. 7 against a Rockets team that eliminated them in five games in the opening round of last season’s playoffs.

That game will be followed by an Oct. 13 contest in Tulsa, Okla., against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Mavs will then return home for an Oct. 16 matchup against Atlanta before traveling to Cleveland to battle LeBron James and the Cavaliers on Oct. 19.

The Mavs wind up the home portion of their preseason schedule, which was released Thursday, with an Oct. 21 home outing against Phoenix. The final preseason game is slated for Oct. 23 in Lincoln, Neb., against the Chicago Bulls, before the Mavs open the regular season Oct. 28 in Phoenix.

Dallas finished last season with a 50-32 record, but will have at least seven new players on its roster this year, including a minimum of three new starters. Starting guards Monta Ellis (Indiana) and Rajon Rondo (Sacramento) and starting center Tyson Chandler (Phoenix) left the Mavs last month via free agency.
