A Dallas theater company won’t let Dallas Mavericks fans forget the Luka Doncic trade, as its latest play is a Greek tragedy about the stunning NBA deal.
The Theatre Three play will feature characters portraying Doncic, general manager Nico Harrison, former owner Mark Cuban and new acquisition Anthony Davis’ hernia.
The play is called “The Trade: A Tragedy in Four Quarters” and was created by Matt Lyle and Matt Coleman.
The play runs from Thursday to Nov. 2, and tickets are on sale now on the company’s website, starting at $40 for standard tickets or $37 for seniors.
The play is a humorous, biting satire that questions the competence of Harrison and ownership, while consoling Mavs fans’ heartbreak.
Here’s Theatre Three’s description:
“In this fast-paced, highly unauthorized, foam middle-fingered satire, the Dallas Mavericks are on the brink of greatness — so naturally, Nico slams the self-destruct button. With a Greek chorus narrating the tragic downfall, a Kiss Cam, ‘Luka Doncic,’ ‘Mark Cuban,’ and a cameo from ‘Anthony Davis’s Hernia,’ THE TRADE skewers the madness behind the moves, the myth that millionaires and billionaires must know what they’re doing, and the heartbreak of loving something that doesn’t love you back.
“In Dallas, tragedy wears Nikes.”
