How to watch the Mavs play the Kings in the NBA Play-In Tournament
The Dallas Mavericks and Sacramento Kings will play a part in determining which of four teams will earn the final two playoff spots in the Western Conference.
The Mavs and Kings will be joined by the Golden State Warriors and the Memphis Grizzlies on the Western Conference edition in the play-in tournament.
Here’s everything fans need to know before the Mavs game tips off on Wednesday.
When is the game
The Mavs will play the Kings at 9 p.m. on Wednesday at the Golden 1 Center and the game will air on ESPN.
What’s the play-in format?
The play-in tournament determines the last two playoff qualifiers in each conference by having seeds No. 7-10 play each other in two games, with the first round consisting of the seventh seed playing the eighth seed and the ninth seed playing the 10th seed.
The winner of the game between the No. 9 and No. 10 teams moves onto the next round with the loser eliminated. The winner of the game between No. 8 and No. 7 advances to the next round of the playoffs, and the loser gets another chance to advance if they can beat the winner of the other play-in matchup.
For the Mavs this means they would have to beat the Kings and then beat whoever loses the game between the Warriors and Grizzlies to get to a best-of-seven series.
When are the other play-in games?
