How much did the Dallas Mavericks owner donate to support Donald Trump?
Front Office Sports compiled a list of NBA, NFL, and MLB owners who donated to the political campaigns of Donald Trump or Kamala Harris.
The reporting found that Dallas Mavericks owner Miriam Adelson was the largest contributor to either candidate giving $100 million to help re-elect Trump.
This should come as no surprise, as Adelson has long been a Trump supporter, giving $172 million to GOP initiatives in 2020.
Adelson’s donations dwarfed other NBA owners, with the second largest being $12 million to GOP causes donated by the DeVos family who owns the Orlando Magic.
Aldeson alone donated more to Trump than every NBA, NFL and MLB owner combined.
What about the other Texas owners?
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones gave $20,000 to Senate candidate Ted Cruz, and Rangers owner Ray Davis gave $415,00 to Trump and nearly $400,000 to the Republican National Committee.
Davis was the third largest political donor in the MLB, behind San Francisco Giants owner Charles Johnson, who gave $3.2 million to Republican causes and Cubs owners the Ricketts family who gave $1.4 million to Democrat causes and $660,000 to Republican causes.
